As I mentioned earlier in the week, mobile ordering has become a big game changer at Walt Disney World, and there is news this week that they have now added three more, very popular sites that are known for their long lines.
Up first, you can now mobile order at Friar’s Nook! The Friar’s Nook is located in Fantasyland, right across from the entrance to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As of this writing, there are not too many breakfast options, so this is a pretty amazing option, especially for those early mornings in the Magic Kingdom.
So how this all works: step one is to make sure you have the My Disney Experience app installed on your phone. I mean, you really should do this anyway, since it holds all your plans and tickets and photos, but just in case you didn’t know….now you do.
Open the app, and either select the + in the middle of the bottom row, or go to the main screen (where your profile and plans are) and select “Mobile Ordering.”
From here, you can select both your restaurant and the time you want to pick up your food. PRO TIP: if you want to plan your meal time, I suggest you go into the app in the morning and order, say, lunch at 1:00 at Pecos Bill. First of all, you won’t have to worry about it later. Secondly, when everyone is hot and hangry, you’ve already ordered so you won’t have to worry about all the pick up times being taken and having to wait for your lunch.
Once you choose your restaurant and time, it’s time to build your order. Choose what you want to order (or order everything, because it’s Disney and calories don’t count at Disney), and customize things how you want. Then it’s time to check out and complete your order.
Here, you can enter any promo codes (I have no idea if there are any, but, as you can see, the option is there! I assume perhaps this is for Annual Passholders and Tables in Wonderland. Then you enter your form of payment. They accept Disney gift cards, Disney Rewards cards, Credit or Debit Cards, Apple Pay (I would assume they accept other operating system pays, as well). You cannot just charge it to your room, you will have to enter payment information on this screen.
Once everything is entered, you’ll select purchase and be done with it. When your time arrives (e.g. pickup time 9:00 am), you will open your app and tell them you’re on your way. They will start to make your food while you walk to the restaurant and, theoretically, you arrive and it will be ready! That’s all there is to mobile ordering. You can order lunch on the bus ride to the parks and go about your day.
The good news doesn’t end with The Friar’s Nook, though. Have you ever wanted a Citrus Swirl and the line for Sunshine Tree Terrace is back over the Adventureland bridge into Main St? Or what about wanting a funnel cake at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments but the line is back to the Haunted Mansion?
THAT’S RIGHT! Mobile Ordering is now available at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments and Sunshine Tree Terrace! I cannot express how excited I am about this! While I love Dole Whip and try to have it at least once every single trip, my FAVORITE frozen snacks are available at Sunshine Tree. I would say just the classic citrus swirl, but there are so many other options now that it’s hard to choose one! AND my daughter ONLY likes chocolate ice cream. AND SUNSHINE TREE HAS IT! So everybody wins! Plus, pot stickers.
No more waiting an hour for your nutella fruit waffle at Sleepy Hollow, too! This super popular breakfast item can now be ordered while waiting in line for Splash Mountain or while riding the monorail over from the TTC. How awesome to not have to stand in those lines! I’m all for eliminating waiting in line. Thanks, Disney!!
