Disney news is breaking faster than hearts these days! Let’s have a quick recap, shall we?

Let’s start with what, quite frankly, is the most terrifying news I’ve ever heard in my life.

That’s right! After YEARS of rumors, it is confirmed. THE SANDERSON SISTERS WILL BE BACK! Bette Midler took to twitter, as she brilliantly does so well, to announce the frightful news.

Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker then confirmed that they will also be joining in with their broomsticks and vacuum! HOW EXCITING!!!

This is certainly a favorite in my house and we cannot wait until Fall 2022, when Hocus Pocus 2 will premier on Disney+!!

Let’s all form a calming circle until then!

Great news for Disneyland fans! Although still no word on when non-Californians will be able to return to the Happiest Place on Earth, some good news came out today in the continuing phased reopening of Disneyland. The Disneyland Hotel will reopen on July 2, 2021, and is now open for reservations (Contact me today to book your room at the Disneyland hotel, California residents!). While they were closed, the Disneyland Hotel got a glow up and will be ready to welcome back guests with refreshed features. Go on, girl!

Guests will also be able to go back to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar! Don’t lose your head over it, but it’s FANTASTIC news on the path back to some normalcy!

Let’s stay in California and talk about the AMAZING food coming to Avengers Campus. I need a 15-day trip just to eat all the food. When the Avengers Campus opens on June 4, there will be absolutely no shortage of SUPER FOOD (see what I did there?) available for all the Avengers in Training. The Pym Test Kitchen featuring Impossible Foods will offer mobile ordering and will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. From Disney: “Guests will be the taste-testers savoring hero-sized meals and tiny treats while they watch the Pym food scientists at work in the kitchen lab.” Honestly my first thought was the side of dinosaur they put on the side of Fred Flintstone’s car, but I shouldn’t mix genres like that. Here’s a sampling of what will be available (all photos from Disney):

Next to the test kitchen, you’ll be able to visit the Pym Tasting Lab, a place where what you see will defy logic (the beer glasses will fill from the bottom up). You’ll be able to order craft beers, particle-infused cocktail experiments, beer cocktails, and snack molecules. It will also have mobile ordering.

Don’t miss the Shawarma Palace kiosk, where you can dine on Tony Stark’s favorite shawarma. Again, mobile ordering will be available. Then you can head over by Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission breakout to try some Terran Treats. Sounds awesome and fattening and I can’t wait!

Speaking of awesome and fattening, some awesome news from over at Walt Disney World. The BoardWalk Ice Cream Parlor opened today, in the space that used to be Ample Hills Creamery. I’m a BIG fan of ice cream, and I’m staying at BoardWalk Villas in August, so I can’t WAIT to add this to my list of things to do! They will be open 3 pm – 10 pm weekdays, and 12 pm – 10 pm on weekends. It as billed as featuring ice cream and sundaes “inspired by Beaches and Cream.” I’m not really sure what, exactly, that means, but I’m pretty excited about it. The location will be “to-go,” and as of now, mobile ordering is NOT available. I guess we’ll need to keep an eye out to see if that changes. Here’s a look at the menu:

I can’t WAIT! I’m so excited, I may hit the ice cream place in France on my way outta EPCOT and then stop at the Boardwalk on my way to my room. Disney calories don’t count.

The latest details on Walt Disney World Refurbishments:

  • WDW Railroad. Yes it is still closed. I think the initial plan was for Tron and all this stuff, including the railroad, to be open in time for the 50th anniversary, but then COVID hit and everything was put on hold. Still no official opening date for Tron and no official reopening date for the Railroad.
  • The Hall of Presidents is still closed and still has no official reopening date. Traditionally, it is closed 6-11 months following a newly elected President, so it could be as early as July 4, 2021, but that is just a date range. Nothing official yet, so one less cool nap spot available.
  • Skyliner will close from January 23-January 28, 2022 for routine maintenance refurbishment, so plan accordingly!
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will have a quick refurbishment in June, and will be closed June 7-June 12, with a scheduled reopening date of June 13.

Over at the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT, the boys are back in town!! The audio animatronic Three Caballeros have returned to the Gran Fiesta Tour after four months of 2-dimensional existence. Welcome home, fellas!

In resort news, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is reportedly converting 200 guest rooms to new DVC Villas. They are scheduled to open in summer 2022, but there is no sizing or pricing available yet. Stay tuned!

And finally, Disney has announced a partnership with Snap to bring new Snapchat lenses starring Mickey and Minnie.
