That’s right, after a very long wait, ‘Ohana is getting ready to once again welcome diners!! Beginning July 9, Walt Disney World guests can once again enjoy all-you-care-to-enjoy deliciousness at this Polynesian Resort restaurant! The Polynesian will not reopen to guests until July 19, with REIMAGINED MOANA ROOMS!!! But this is Tasty Thursday, and we’re just here to discuss FOOD.
Sadly, Lilo, Stitch, and pals won’t immediately be returning for breakfast, but there will be a traveling musician in the dining room for dinner. That is not going to stop you from eating the excellent food, starting with BREAKFAST!!
Once again, you’ll be starting out with that delicious pineapple-coconut bread that my family wrestles each other to eat. And, of course, STITCH JUICE!!! I can’t get enough of the stuff! I have tried to make it at home but it’s just NOT the same!! Beverages also will include coffee, tea, fruit juices, water, coffee, and tea.
The non-alcoholic specialties will include smoothies and a specialty character drink and Coke products.
Now for those grown-up drinks (DISCLAIMER: I’m not in any way, shape, or form a grown-up, but my driver’s license claims I’m at least old enough to imbibe)! You’ll be able to enjoy a Mimosa your way (GIMME THAT STITCH JUICE!!), Wasabi Bloody Mary, and more!!
Food will continue to be served family-style, again all-you-care-to-enjoy. You will have your choice between the traditional (includes ham, eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles) or plant-based skillets. All my vegan and vegetarian pals LOVE dining at ‘Ohana because of their plant-based menu!! And if you are dining with food allergies, you will need to see a chef, and they will prepare (and refill as you desire!) your own personal skillet! I usually receive not only my own celiac-perfect skillet, but also a collection of pastries just for me!
And for dinner? YES, THE NOODLES ARE COMING BACK!! So are the chicken wings and pork dumplings! They will also offer, again family-style all-you-care-to-enjoy, beef, chicken, shrimp, kielbasa, and NOODLES. (Did I mention the noodles?) Dessert will once again be the famous bread pudding!
