You Simply Have to Do These Rides at Night on Your Next Trip to Walt Disney World!
We all know that there are some rides that are better than others, but did you know there are some rides that are better than themselves when you ride them at night? Here is the Top Ten Rides that are Better at Night!
10. Dumbo
Dumbo is not super exciting by any stretch of the imagination, however, if you ride it at night, there are virtually no lines AND you can get some pretty great shots of the castle and fireworks from the air. Sometimes you can even time it up JUST RIGHT to catch Tink flying!!
9. Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover
Think about all that you see during the day, now imagine all of that, but lit up at night. And if you time the ride right, you may come upon the castle lit up and fireworks in the air. Yep.
8. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The sights are GREAT! It’s much much cooler, and, if you sit in the back, the ride itself FEELS different. Did you know that each car on each train moves independently of each other? They actually sway from side to side! And for some reason, at night, they seem to move more!
7. Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise at night makes the ride a bit more mysterious, as it’s dark and harder to see certain things. And sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll get a mischievous Skipper that tells some nighttime jokes.
6. The Haunted Mansion

It’s absolutely no secret that The Haunted Mansion is my FAVORITE ride, and it’s magical at night. The ride itself is obviously not affected in any way, as it is entirely indoors, but the atmosphere at night is on another level. The ride queue seems to be alive, especially
after the last refurbishment. And the lights on the Mansion itself adds an eeriness to the place that just isn’t there in the daylight. This is definitely a must-do at night for me!!
5. Slinky Dog Dash

Slinky is another roller coaster ride that is, inexplicably, just better at night. It FEELS faster, it SEEMS faster, it’s a BEAUTIFUL view of Hollywood Studios all lit up. It’s just magical!
4. Hollywood Tower of Terror

Similar to Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror is spookier at night, especially waiting in that outdoor queue in the dark with the screams coming from above you. But when that elevator door opens, THAT VIEW. Unbeatable. Hands down worth the price of a gimbal just to capture that.
3. Splash Mountain

Just do it for the view. Trust me.
2. Expedition Everest

This ride is BANANAS in the dark. Absolutely bananas. Unfortunately, post-COVID, Animal Kingdom hasn’t been staying open until dark, but if this ever changes back, RUN, don’t walk, to get in line for Everest at night. The backwards
feels-like-you’re-upside-down-but-you’re-not part is CHAOTIC. I had absolutely no idea which way I was going, which way was up, which way was down….it is HUGE amounts of fun!
1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad-The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!

Again, I don’t know WHY, but this ride seems to be incredibly more of a “thrill” ride at night. It feels faster, especially in the back, and it feels much rougher. I felt like I was flying out of my seat and I definitely felt like I was going to hit my hands on the bones, which is absolutely ridiculous because I am 5’1″ and there’s no chance of that happening. And, again, that magical nighttime view!!!
