Celebrate 100 Years of Wonder as The Walt Disney Company Turns 100!
The Walt Disney Company will be celebrating 100 Years of Wonder in 2023, and you’re not going to want to miss a thing! This will be the largest cross-company global celebration. All of the Disney Parks
around the world will be celebrating, but the heart of the celebration will be at Disneyland Resort. The celebration will kick off on January 7, 2023, in Anaheim, California. It will all start with platinum-infused decor throughout the resort.
Sleeping Beauty Castle Gets a Glow Up!
Sleeping Beauty Castle will be adorned with elegant platinum banners and bunting. There will be an elaborate cabochon featuring the Three Good Fairies. There will be magical water fountains on either side of the moat and a beautiful wishing star atop the tallest tower.
World of Color – One
Disneyland Resort will be receiving two brand new nighttime spectaculars. First, at Disney California Adventure, celebrate the storytelling legacy of Walt Disney with “World of Color – One.” This updated show will tell a new story of how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple. Then this ripple can grow into a wave of change. Additionally, it will feature an all-new original song, “Start a New Wave.”
This new nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park will ignite the wonder of all of us. It will feature every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date. State-of-the-art projections will light up Main St. USA, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the facade of “it’s a small world,” and Rivers of America. And this brings characters to life all around you, fully immersing you in the story. On select nights, fireworks will light up the sky, too! But that’s not all! A new song, “It’s Wondrous,” will also debut!
While ToonTown will not officially reopen until March 8, 2023, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open January 27. This new-to-California ride will be quite similar to it’s Hollywood Studios copy, with an updated California-style line queue. The rest of ToonTown will return in March.
Once it returns, guests will once again be able to visit Mickey’s House and Minnie’s House. Additionally, Chip ‘N Dale’s Gadget Coaster and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin will reopen for guests to once again enjoy. Over at Goofy’s House, a brand new experience awaits in Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard. Donald’s Boat will also feature all-new experiences. Cafe Daisy will feature diner classics for guests to nosh or head to Good Boy! Grocers for snacks.
Magic Happens Parade
The “Magic Happens” parade will return to Disneyland Park on Feb. 24, 2023! This parade was cut short by Covid, and is now set to return as part of the 100 Years of Wonder Celebration! With a wave of his wand, Mickey Mouse leads a cavalcade of fabulous floats, whimsically costumed performers and popular Disney pals around the park and into your hearts—all while moving to a high-energy contemporary musical score that puts a spin on classic Disney hits. In addition, a stirring song co-composed by singer-songwriter Todrick Hall brings some of your favorite Disney tales to life like never before.
Watch Moana ride the crest of a beautiful wave in her voyager canoe, followed by Coco’s guitar-strumming Miguel joined by his dog Danté and other fantastical spirit animals and behold the enchanted forest from Frozen 2 as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven pass by. The parade’s grand finale commemorates memorable moments from Disney classics in an incredible procession that’s not to be missed!
