Seattle, Washington
The Ovation of the Seas will sail from Seattle, so you’ll want to make sure you’re in town at LEAST a day in advance. And while you’re there, take in the sights!
Space Needle
Carl S. English Jr Botanical Gardens
Gas Works Park
Seattle Center – sight of the 1962 World’s Fair
Pike Place Market
Seattle Underground Tour – Seattle’s Gold Rush
Ketchikan, Alaska
Known as the “salmon capital of the world,” Ketchikan is rich in fishing and culture. They also have the most totem poles in the world! You can explore the Tongass National Forest, which is the largest in the United States.
Skagway, Alaska
This is a Klondike Gold Rush town and has a TON to offer! Visit the Corrington Museum and learn about Alaska’s history, or take in some historical reenactments! You can also head up to Laughton Glacier, and go sledding with Alaskan huskies. Personally, I LOVE huskies, and this sounds amazing!
Visit the Lynn Canal, the longest fjord in North America, and go rafting! How incredible does THAT sound?! You can also ride a vintage rail car along White Pass and Yukon route narrow-gauge railway, where you will see the Bridal Veil Falls, Dead Horse Gulch, and Glacier Gorge!
Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier, Alaska. Juneau, Alaska. Victoria, British Columbia
Endicott Arm is a breeding ground for harbor seals, so you can probably see them swimming alongside the ship. You might also see brown bears, bald eagles, sea ducks, moose, and wolves. Then, get an up-close look at Dawes Glacier, jutting 600 feet out of the sea! In Juneau, watch for humpback whales, orcas, harbor seals, and sea lions on a charter boat excursion. Or travel to Mendenhall Glacier and become a Master Musher! You can even pan for gold! The final stop before returning to Seattle is Victoria, British Columbia, the cycling capital of the world. Take in a classic afternoon tea, shop, and eat!
The Ovation of the Seas
The Ovation of the Seas is a Quantum Class ship, with a guest capacity of 4,180. Enjoy 4 pools, including the adults-only retreat, the Solarium, a library, virtual balconies, and more!
Dining
Main dining room, featuring savory, multicourse feasts every night
Alaska, the great frontier! There are so many ways to explore this magical paradise, and Royal Caribbean offers cruises on FOUR of their amazing ships! There is a cruise for everyone!! Cruises to Alaska run from May through September, 2022. Departing from Seattle, Seward, and Vancouver, you will get to explore the amazing sights and sounds of Alaska, AND the amazing sights and sounds of Quantum of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas, or Serenade of the Seas!
Quantum of the Seas
Quantum of the Seas has something for every member of the family!
Quantum will sail seven-night cruises roundtrip from Seattle to Endicott Arm fjord, Sitka and Juneau, Alaska, where there are adventures for the whole family on board. From catching waves on the FlowRider surf simulator or getting active at SeaPlex, the largest indoor activity space at sea, with bumper cars, flying trapeze, roller skating, basketball and more, there’s always something to do.
And after working up a sweat and eating fresh sushi or hibachi at Izumi, or pasta at Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver, you can dive into either the indoor or outdoor pool. While tuckered out young ones hit the hay, parents can top off the day with nightly entertainment at Two70, a venue that fuses performance art and technology for one-of-a-kind live productions.
Ovation of the Seas
If you’re looking to reach new heights, you won’t have to go far when cruising on Ovation of the Seas. Departing from Seattle for Juneau, Sitka and Skagway, this Quantum Class ship sails seven-night itineraries through the wilds of Alaska and by the 500 miles of unparalleled shoreline called the Inside Passage.
For the best view of these places and more, you and your travel buddies can scope out the scenery from the North Star—the signature glass-enclosed observation capsule on board that serves up panoramic views from 300 feet above sea level. Never miss a majestic mountaintop, bald eagle sighting or imposing glacier. And once you’ve taken in the views, head to Ovation‘s Fish & Ships for an order of classic British fish and chips or a hearty lobster roll.
Serenade of the Seas
For those seeking an itinerary filled with more ports than you can count, Serenade of the Seas is an adventure in Alaska that you won’t want to miss. Some of the top spots you’ll behold include Sitka, Juneau and Ketchikan, complete with jaw-dropping views of two epic glaciers, Endicott Arm fjord and Dawes Glacier. The shore excursions are as varied as the destinations too—think dogsledding, salmon bakes, panning for gold and whale watching.
The Radiance Class ship will sail from Vancouver, British Columbia and will be the only Royal Caribbean ship to visit the wild landscapes and seascapes of Tracy Arm Fjord—a natural gem with more than 30 miles of deep, narrow passageways surrounded by glacier-carved cliffs and epic waterfalls. Anyone on board can continuously marvel at the untamed destinations, wherever they turn, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the ship.
Radiance of the Seas
Look no further than Radiance of the Seas if you want to spend more time in Alaska before or after your cruise. No stranger to the Last Frontier, Radiance is the ultimate Alaska experience offering the option to extend your vacation. Also known as pre- or post-sailing Cruisetours, these extended trips can range between seven and 13 nights and even 18-night options. You can also see more with “open jaw” itineraries leaving from one port like Seward, Alaska and returning to another like Vancouver, and visiting ports such as Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, Alaska.
And why go on a Cruisetour you ask? A multinight, land-based adventure is the perfect opportunity to dive deeper into the glacial valleys and river canyons, and learn more about the state’s cultural past like native woodworking. Plus, it’s all led by an experienced guide. Highlights include seeing where urban meets outdoors in the state’s biggest city, Anchorage, going back in time at a former gold mining boomtown, or marveling at Denali National Park.
Pro tip: The cruise-to-land breakdown varies by Cruisetour, but you can roughly spend half of your time at sea and half on land.
Depending on the ship and cruise you choose, you can see Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, Tracy Arm Fjords and Glacier, the Hubbard Glacier, the Inside Passage, Juneau, Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan, and more! You can zip line, go panning for gold, whale watching, bear watching, kayaking, paddle boarding, see sun at midnight, and so much more! What are you waiting for?!?!?
