Encanto Garden in EPCOT

0 0
Read Time:3 Minute, 10 Second

Fans are Not Going to Want to Miss this Encanto Garden in EPCOT for the International Flower and Garden Festival!!

Now at EPCOT, as part of the International Flower and Garden Festival! You can now wander through a wonderful garden inspired by the Marvelous Madrigal Family. This Encanto Garden in EPCOT will only be available through May 22, 2022, so contact me today to make sure you don’t miss it!

Where?

Encanto Garden in EPCOT

Admittedly, EPCOT is pretty big, so you’re probably asking yourself “WHERE IS IT? WHERE IS IT?” right about now. Well, this amazingly beautiful garden is located near La Isla Fresca Outdoor Kitchen between the Morocco and France pavilions in World Showcase.

This new “Encanto”-inspired garden will allow you to explore a lush tropical jardín. It was inspired by movie’s strong female characters, Julieta, Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel. There is also a path inspired by the youngest Madrigal, Antonio.

La Isla Fresca

La Isla Fresca features three arepas dishes: arepas topped with melted queso fresco; arepa topped with shrimp, crushed avocado ají and tomato sauce; and an arepa topped with chorizo. Don’t forget the Coconut Tres Leches for dessert!! And if you’re thirsty or need something to wash it all down, check out the drinks menus! First, for a non-alcoholic treat, try the Tropical Breeze. This drink has lemonade, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup! Then, for some alcoholic delight, order this with Don Q Limon Rum! Next, the Florida Orange Groves Winery’s Tropical Perception White Sangria may be what you’re after. Lastly, Beer drinkers will want to try the Coconut Key Lime Ale.

Other Gardens at EPCOT

While visiting EPCOT, Guests can discover two more incredible garden destinations at Mexico pavilion in World Showcase. “Extraordinary Orchids” offers a breathtakingly beautiful area filled with orquídeas, while the “Tropical Rainforest Garden” lets you discover the rich biodiversity of the Mexican rainforest and its adaptive species.

More Encanto at Walt Disney World

Encanto Wall Animal Kingdom

Venture to Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Here, you will have the chance to experience the artwork and wildlife of Colombia, which is where the Familia Madrigal live. Here, you can snap a photo at the mural designed by Colombian artist, Catalina Estrada. Then, make a stop at the cotton-top tamarins, an endangered primate species native to Colombia. You can also learn how you can help protect this species.

Additionally, guests can enjoy an Encanto activity packet featuring fun activities for the whole family. It moves beyond coloring to include small projects. Inside you will find you can create a view finder as well as a family tree!

Available through the end of March, you can receive this Magic Shot with MY favorite member of the Madrigals, Luisa! She’s the strong one. She’s not nervous. But this only runs through the end of March, unless enough people contact Disney so they feel pressure to extend it (hint hint).

Encanto-Inspired Treats at All-Star Movies and Art of Animation for Women’s History Month

Photo: WDWNT

First, we have the Luisa Cake Pop. This is layers of vanilla cake and tres leches pastry cream topped with a doughnut hole “boulder.” Available for $5.29. Next up, the Encanto Cholado, available for $6.99. Here, we have crushed ice topped with sliced fruit, sweetened condensed milk, and coconut. And finally, we have the Mirabel Cinnamon Cupcake! A cinnamon cupcake filled with custard and topped with coconut buttercream, toasted coconut, and Mirabel-inspired fondant.

Personally, I think there needs to be MORE Encanto, and for much longer than 3 weeks. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

The Best Options for When You Want to Drink Around the World!

Best Epcot Drinks – Strategy

Best Epcot Drinks

So you want to drink around the world…. This popular theme park past time has become almost cultish. You will find t-shirts, passports, apps, and more about the topic. But where do you start? How do you do it? What are the best Epcot drinks? What should I avoid? How many body parts will I need to sell to be able to afford it? I’ve got your back! Let’s get started.

Drink Around the World – Where to Start?

World Showcase

There are a TON of opinions out there about WHERE you should start in World Showcase. First off, that entirely depends on where you’re coming from. If you’re entering the International Gateway, it is completely ridiculous to start in Mexico. If you’re coming from Test Track, there’s no way you’re going to want to start in, say, France. For me, when drinking around the World, in order to survive, you’ll want to start in Canada. Especially if you’re going to have an alcoholic drink in all 11 countries. Mexico is the best pavilion, I will never say otherwise. Mexico probably has the best drinks, too, but if you start there, you’re gonna be smashed by America, and the rest of the night will be a waste. So just trust me, and start in Canada!

Best Epcot Drinks – Canada: The Ottawa Apple

Best Epcot Drinks - Ottawa Apple

Canada means hockey, beer, maple syrup, and apples. So you need to head to the Popcorn Cart in Canada and order the Ottawa Apple. This drink has Crown Royal whiskey, maple, apple infusion, and cranberry juice. It is sweet AND tart and the whiskey is nice and warm as it goes down your gullet! This is one of my favorite drinks and, in my opinion, one of the best themed drinks in Epcot. Maple and Apple is completely Canadian! Do you know what I’m talkin’ aboot?

United Kingdom: The Welsh Dragon

If you’re a beer person, you’re going to want a Guinness, but, if you’re like me, you’re going for the liquor. My go-to Epcot drink is the Welsh Dragon. Peach schnapps, melon liqueur, creme de menthe, orange juice, and pineapple juice. You can also opt to get it in a souvenir mug. Our go-to is to stop into the Rose and Crown Pub, grab a drink, and enjoy them while strolling around the UK Gardens!

Best Epcot Drinks – France: Orange Slush

Orange slush

You’re hot and you deserve something to help you cool off. So stroll over to France for the quintessential Epcot cocktail, the Grand Marnier Orange Slush! Grand Marnier, rum, Grey Goose orange, and orange juice. Simply delicious!

Morocco: The Mediterranean Journey

Morocco - Mediterranean Journey

Stop into Spice Road Table, have some food to soak up that first round of alcohol, and order the Mediterranean Journey to accompany your meal. But don’t forget the water, either! This concoction is cointreau, peach vodka, orange juice, and a splash of grenadine.

Japan – Violet Sake

Violet Sake

The most underrated pavilion probably has the most underrated drink. Japan is absolutely gorgeous, the food is good, and the shopping is unique. But don’t go there. Just stay away. Keep the crowds low. I kid, I kid. Head to Kabuki Cafe and order the Violet Sake, a combination of sake, purple pear, and lime juice.

Best Epcot Drinks: American Adventure – Frozen Stag Lemonade

Best Epcot Drinks - Frozen Stag Lemonade

The American Adventure is not the place to go for food and drinks that are out of the ordinary, but if you consider not getting a drink here a failure, you don’t want to miss the Frozen Stag Lemonade, frozen lemonade and Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon. Then head out to somewhere more adventurous….

China: Tipsy Ducks in Love

Best Epcot Drinks - Tipsy Ducks in Love

Bourbon, coffee, tea, and chocolate. What could POSSIBLY go wrong? If you’re starting to have trouble walking, you want want to opt for the N/A version here!

Norway: Viking Coffee (And School Bread)

Photo from Motherhood and Beyond

Alright, kids, 10 countries in, get some school bread and load up. There’s only one country left, and it’s a doozy! The Viking Coffee is available hot or cold, but you’re probably going to shoot for the cold version. This coffee is made with Baileys Irish Cream and Kamora Coffee Liqueur with Coffee-Chocolate Sauce and is garnished with Coffee-Chocolate Crunch. Maybe grab some more water. Try and sober up a bit. Then….VIVA LA MEXICO!!!!

MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’ve Made It!

Best Epcot Drinks - Mexico
Blood Orange Margarita

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations! I’m so proud of you! I hope you’re not seeing double! Now take yourself inside the pyramid to La Cava del Tequila and grab a Blood Orange Margarita! Tequila, orange liqueur, sweet-tart blood orange juice, topped with a wildberry foam, served on the rocks with a tajin chili powder rim.

For a more Mexico-fied experience, check out the Tequila Experience at La Cava del Tequila! Interested in the Bar Crawls of Walt Disney World? Contact me today to book your next Disney vacation!!

Read Time:3 Minute, 18 Second

The best Non-Alcoholic Drinks at Walt Disney World and Where to Find Them!

I love to drink around the World, but there are some who, for whatever reason (you do you! Live your life!), cannot, will not, do not want to drink. So, for these people, and everyone else, too, here are the best mocktails of Disney World!

best mocktails available at various lounges
Best Mocktails of Disney World
pina colava

This first one is a classic, and SO good. It also comes with rum, if you want the virgin for the kids while you imbibe the real thing! This tropical twist on the classic colada invites a thick raspberry puree into the mix. Personally, raspberries make all tropical flavors that much better, so I prefer this to the real Colada!

best mocktails available at monorail resorts
Best Mocktails of Disney World - Schweitzer Falls
schweitzer falls – trader sam’s grog grotto, the polynesian

Yes, Trader Sam’s has great cocktails. And they also have great No-Booze Brews. So while you’re having the Uh-Oa or the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room, the kids or your sober companion can also enjoy a tropical beverage, like the Schweitzer Falls! Of course, it’s named after the great explorer good ‘ol Albert…..Falls! This is Sam’s Gorilla Grog and tropical juices topped with Sprite. So refreshing!

mOCKTAILS IN mAGIC kINGDOM

While you won’t find that many cocktails, the Magic Kingdom actually has a lot of the best mocktails of Disney World! Adventureland? Main St? I’m sure there’s something! Let’s check it out!

lefou’s brew – gaston’s tavern
Best Mocktails - LeFou's Brew
LeFou’s Brew and Souvenir Stein

Yeah, yeah, yeah, frozen butterbeer, Harry Potter, blah blah blah. Don’t sleep on LeFou’s Brew! This vegan-friendly no-sugar-added frozen apple slush presents a hint of marshmallow flavoring and is topped with a passionfruit-mango foam. Surprisingly delicious. Amazingly refreshing. This is definitely something to enjoy! Wash down your GIGANTIC cinnamon roll with LeFou’s Brew!

frozen mint julep lemonade – casey’s corner

Hang on, Disneylanders, we know you have the Mint Julep game under control over there in CA, but this version is a refreshing, frozen, slushified mix of mint julep perfection! Frozen Minute Maid Lemonade, topped with fresh mint leaves, cherry, and lemon. A timely reminder in the best mocktails competition that sometimes, less is more!

Mint Julep Lemonade
dole whip float – aloha isle

A contender that needs no introduction, it’s THE DOLE WHIP FLOAT. The classic Dole Whip, pineapple, vanilla, or swirl, topped with pineapple juice. JUST what the doctor ordered on a hot, August day in Central Florida!

i lava you float – sunshine tree terrace

That brings us to my personal favorite snack in all of Walt Disney World (I said what I said) , the I Lava You Float at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Now, hear me out: Fanta strawberry soda, passion fruit flavor served with DOLE Whip Orange, and topped with Popping Candy. TASTE BUD HEAVEN. Seriously, who would have ever thought strawberry Fanta was SO GOOD?!?!?

best mocktail in hollywood studios
Best Mocktails of Disney World - Sunset Boulevard
sunset boulevard – hollywood brown derby lounge

Checking in with another “less is more” offering in the best mocktails competition, the Sunset Boulevard at the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. SO SIMPLE. It is tangerine and sprite, served with a glow cube. It is delicious and refreshing.

best mocktail in animal kingdom
Best Mocktails of Disney World - Night Blossom
night blossom – pongu pongu

Described as, “layers of Apple and Desert Pear Limeade topped with Passion Fruit Boba Balls,” the Night Blossom is the perfect pick-me-up in the middle of a hot day at Animal Kingdom aka the hottest of the hot theme parks!

best mocktail in epcot
The american dream – fife and drum tavern

“You look like the Fourth of July! Makes me want a hot dog REAL bad!” This patriotic refreshment is perfect for washing down that hot dog, turkey leg, or Mickey pretzel! Frozen Fanta strawberry, vanilla ice cream, and frozen Fanta blue raspberry slushy! It is as good as it sounds!

Visit Mexico

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 37 Second

There are few places I love more than this, so let’s visit Mexico at EPCOT!

visit mexico – a pyramid

If you have never visited Mexico, you might have seen photos of the Mesoamerican pyramid that houses the exhibit. Although similar to their Egyptian counterparts, these pyramids feature flat tops and stairs up the sides. There’s already enough walking in Epcot! You won’t have to climb stairs to get inside, though, since the pyramid is raised. DO NOT CLIMB THE STAIRS ON THE PYRAMID. Just don’t be that guy!

Visit Mexico

Once inside, you will find shopping, dining, and a dark ride that showcases Mexican culture. This is one of my favorite pavilions. It is absolutely beautiful. You will enter the pavilion through an art gallery that features Mexican artwork called “Animales Fantasticos.”

You will then enter the Plaza de los Amigos, a Mexican plaza and village, set at twilight overlooking a lagoon. In the center of the lagoon, you will see another pyramid, complete with a volcano that is “erupting.” On the edge of the plaza is San Angel Inn Restaurante, a table service restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine.

gran fiesta tour

Across the way from the restaurant, you will find the ride Gran Fiesta Tour, one of three rides in the World Showcase. In the current iteration of this ride, you will travel past the Mayan pyramid and volcano (and past the restaurant) into a celebration of Dia de los Muertos. Start out with Panchito Pistoles and Jose Carioca, as they search for the third Caballero, Donald Duck! They have a concert to perform and need our help! The ride then progresses through Mexican scenes and animatronics until all Three Caballeros unite to perform. It is super cute and very relaxing. I highly recommend it. I could just visit Mexico just for the ride!

Visit Mexico for Tequila!
Visit Mexico - La Cava del Tequila

Next to San Angel, you will find La Cava del Tequila, a tequila bar with tequila (duh), specialty margaritas, and appetizers. Here you can also book La Cava Experience. This is a private tequila tasting with tequila connoisseurs, that you can only get in Tequila, Mexico. It is truly a one of a kind experience! Sound like your kind of thing? Let’s talk!

Visit Mexico - Donald Duck
Photo does not reflect current safety protocols. Masks are currently required in Walt Disney World

Donald Duck. Character meet and greets are BACK, though still socially distanced.

shopping

You’ve looked at art work, you’ve gone on a relaxing boat ride, you’ve eaten, you’ve drank, you’ve heard some music. Now you shop til you drop! In the Plaza de los Amigos you will find authentic Mexican goodies like sombreros and ceramics and musical instruments like castanets and maracas. Outside of the Mexico pavilion, you can grab a quick service meal at La Hacienda de San Angel (available on mobile ordering) or grab a margarita at Choza de Margarita, an outdoor margarita bar that also serves appetizers.

Have you visited the Mexico pavilion? You simply must go! It is absolutely beautiful and has a lot to look at! Ready to book your vacation?
